Got a little antsy yesterday afternoon.  Solution was to make some decaf, put it in a travel mug and take the dog for a slow walk in the park in the gorgeous 23C sunny weather.  Still a bit antsy after that so went on another short walk without the dog, but with decaf.  It worked.  I think I'm on day 10 now, but can't get the chart to come up.

Hi Rusty! Hang in there! At least that's what my non-alcoholic friends say to me,but, try as they might, they don't really get it. Do you have friends like that? Anyway, I'm on this site for a reason, to find and to relate to other alcoholics.  It's not easy, I have discovered, being an alcoholic and trying to live a life with no alcohol.  I hope you are well, tomorrow is a new day.  Remember that, even if your mind is cloudy, it's a new day.  Sometimes, the sun is so bright in my eyes, in my own bedroom, that I could scream and I close the curtains.  But, I'm learning that, even if my head aches or my heart, if I just say to myself, "it's a new day", I am okay. Good luck Rusty.

Thanks so much for the words of encouragement.  Keep up the good resolve as well.  Gives me a bit of inspiration - if someone else can, so can I!

Now starting day 4 and feeling like I'm back on track, but one day at a time.  Will start using my old strategies if craving returns.  Getting back into my routines from the prior three months, not he last week, should help.  Congrats to all that have been posting about a few days to a few months alcohol free.

Hello Rusty,

You sound very determined to get your tracker back to zeros! You are right today is a new day, a new chance to take control and make the decisions that are best for you. Do check in often, several times a day if it helps. We are here to support and help you along the way.

Stay strong,
