Satu, I had great success on Effexor; however my brain zaps were occurring during the course of treatment and lasted 4-5 months after I titrated off of it.  I totally understand that, too.  It was horrid and I called the pharaceutical company and discussed with them.  I was desperate.  However, I could only ride the storm in terms of the wthdrawals.

I have to agree with deb and can't add anything to her comments.

Satu, are you currently taking anything for your depression??  And welcome .  You are at the right place.  I'm sorry to hear that things are so difficult for you right now, but there are people here always willing to hear and understand.

After trying seven-eight different anti-depressants, anxiety pills, and mood stabilizers, Effexor (225 mg) worked for my severe depression. Well, for the 2 months my insurance paid for it. Recommended... But watch out, getting off of it cold turkey sucks, constant brain zaps for the first week or so. Great med though, the only one that worked for me.
