Hi colour, I don't see it in your intro. but have you been diagnosed with MDD? Or are you just concerned about how to help your wife who is depressed? It might be a good idea to go with her to her doctor and see if you can arrange for an exploratory discussion about how you can help her. It is great to see a husband on here so concerned with helping his wife through her depression and I congratulate you on joining the site... Help her by finding out as much as you can about Major Depression Disorder on here and from her... I'm sure she will tell you in detail how terribly difficult it is to struggle through depresson without the help of her loved one at her side... Let us know how you are getting along in your communication with her, Colour - and welcome to the DC site...

Hi Colour, Welcome to the site. Thanks for taking the time to share your introduction here with us. As gabs wisely advised, you will find tons of information here regarding depression. If you look to the left of the screen under "PROGRAM TOOLS" you'll find our Depression Test, Session Diary, CBT Buddies and our Depression Program. The purpose of our Depression Test is to prepare you with information that you (or your wife) can present to the physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to the doctor. The Session Diary is your Depression Program "Control Center." Your Session Diary contains all of your tools, worksheets and results as you move through each of the 16 Sessions in the Depression Program. Our CBT Buddies and Online Support Group allows you to have some anonymous assistance when dealing with depression. The CBT Buddies and Online Support Group is offered on a 24-hour basis and allows you to communicate with others around the world. The core of The Depression Center is our Depression Program which is an interactive, 16-session cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)course. We hope you find the help you need within The Depression Center. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding our site or with depression please click the "CONTACT US" link at the bottom of the page. We're open to any questions or concerns you may have. Click on I'd like to know more about depression on the home page, then just keep clicking on next until you see a thread called How to help someone with depression. It covers the basic steps. You need to learn as much as possible about depression and living with depression. Also learn about the side effects of any medication she may be taking. How ever hard it is for you, you can be sure its harder for someone to live with MDD. Understanding or wanting to understand is half the battle. you only need to read the posts to know that lack of understanding is one of the most upsetting things. That and feeling alone. Ask all the questions you need, there are lots of people here to give you advice. x

Just to say hi and welcome to all new members. Post often, the response you will get just proves you are not alone. Try to work through the sessions. Come on as often as you can, you will identify with a lot of the same kind of emotions as a lot of others. We all do our best to support each other. good luck.x

:) Daily Llama ... thanks for the morning smile. I must argue that you do, indeed, have wit. Welcome to all the new folks. I'm new myself, but have found this to be a place filled with wonderful, caring people. All ya gotta do is tell a bit about yourself and you'll find some new friends.
