Wellbutrin Problems...serious?

20 years ago 0 84 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I am on wellbutrin, although a lower dose and for me it works much better than zoloft or paxil. I haven't noticed any side effects. Perhaps you should let your prescribing physician know what's going on. Maybe it's something that will get better with time but you might want to find out.

Hi JChandlr, Please be sure to discuss these medication concerns with your doctor. Your local pharmacist is also a great resource for medication questions. Casey ____________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team

Been working on treating depression for about 8-9 months. I've tried zoloft, paxil, lexapro, lexapro with wellbutrin, and then wellbutrin. Up until I took wellbutrin the only effects I got out of the SSRIs were sleepyness and sexual dysfunction. But I do not have those effects with wellbutrin. I started with 200mg wellbutrin a day and have now increased to two 200mg doses a day, so 400mg in total. I believe I found something that actually works because I am doing alot better, but the side effects are fairly bad. I don't want to give up on it though but I was wondering if there was anything I could do to lessen them. I have a horrible ringing in my ears that tends to get louder if I clentch my teeth or when I do strenuous exercise the pressure in my ears change with respiration. If I eat a large amount I start to feel really uncomfortable and I can pretty much hear my heart beat, most of the time it is fairly quick. Lastly I am getting odd muscle twitches and spasms, mosly on the left side of my body (neck, hands, feets). These side effects are definitely annoying but overall my mood has been better so I don't want to stop taking wellbutrin. Is there anything I could have with this to counter some of the effects?
