Good Morning, This does indeed sound like an interesting topic. However, our staff is not familiar with this topic and will have to take a few days to come up with some circumstantial research when reply to your questions. Please be patient with us as we do so and we will be contacting you shortly. Melanie ____________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team

I understand that the Thyroid patients with depression is a serious thing, and that the Pituitary controls the Thyroid. I have also been reading about a herbal pill that gets rid of depression, that blocks an over abundance of Cortisol in the body, which causes depression, weight gain, and anxiety. If some people react to the normal anti-depression medications by gaining weight; perhaps Cortisol has something to do with it? Do any research people here know about the connection between cortisol, anti-depression medications and weight gain? Maybe someone should study the relationship between anti-depression/anxiety medications/ sleep medications and the over-production of cortisol in the body? Please send out the word... and if anyone knows more, please let me know! I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, my body is killing the thyroid, and there is no medical "cure" for this, also hypothyroidism, however I have heard that certain foods can support the thyroid or hurt it. Let me know anything you know!
