not doing very well

It started yesterday when I left home without my patch on and got to work only to have a horrible day. Then my daughter calls me at work asking to go to her friends house. Not a problem, until I get home and then she call to ask to stay out later now it's a problem. There is a trust factor that was broken last year to the tune of $1500 in legal fees and she is still earning it back. On one hand if I don't let her have some freedom she'll rebel, on the other hand she's never satified with an inch she wants the whole mile. Not easy being a single mom and I still get scared when she's out of my sight. She's 14years still young and it's a screwed up society today that parents need to worry about their kids all the time.VT didn't help any either. It's also hard to let go and pray she gets home ok and not into any trouble or worse... So then boyfriend gets involved (not with my daughter present) telling me I'm too strict and to let her be a kid. I know he meant well but I was not in the mood and I let him have it. This is the same person who was suppose to move out a month ago and still hasn't.So you can imagine what was said( trust factors with him too) He's still here, go figure even after I blew up at him and at my daughter when she finally came home. Anyway I'm in a bad mood and still no patch. I know I should use the patch as prescribed but I thought I would try it. Besides it was the 7 mg patch. Is this mood from not using the patch? Part of me wants to just say the hell with this and I'll quit when my daughter leaves home and the boyfriend leaves too. People places and things. Well my daughter stays, boyfriend needs to go and the stresses will still be there. I know part of me is looking for an excuse which is why I'm writing. I feel like crap, I've gained weight and I feel like I did the first few days after quitting smoking. I know I can't go back because as I've said before if I do I will never forgive myself. I'm just in a bad way and can't seem to snap out of it and it isn't PMS. At least then I could understand the mood. I've been doing some serious deep breathing and the urge to smoke is still there. I have not smoked and deep down don't want to, but a part of me is saying to hell with this. What really stinks is I'm not even excited about having 4

Tutti that was beautiful!!! Maybe someday my daughter will realize what it's like to be a parent. She's happy that I quit smoking yet she has tried the other kind of smoke which she found during her visit with her dad and likes it.This also explains the attitude change from a sweet respectful kid to a back talking child. Unfortunately short of going back to court my hands are tied. I did let her father know in no uncertain terms that I will persue this if I find out she's using during her visits.. Part of my quitting smoking is to set an example to her among other reasons. It's tough as you know and I can only do my best to be a good parent. I really do appreciate everyone's advise and I am hanging in there. Just really bummed out and taking it one minute at a time. I'll go to bed soon and hope tomorrow is a better day. not doing very well

Hi everyone, I made it through yesterday without smoking and today I am again without the patch. I am feeling much better. I'm still getting some urges but nothing compared to yesterday and the day before. My mood is more calmed down. I didn't know if I was coming or going. My head felt like it was in a whirlwind. I hate feeling like I have no control over anything but I do have control whether I smoke or not and I choose not to smoke. If it weren't for this site and the support of all of you I might not have made it. The nicodemon almost won and it scares me how easy it can be to give up. Thank you for not giving up on me and giving me the strenght to fight the urge. I went home last night and watched a great movie that my daughter suggested and I was impressed it was really good. It's called Freedomm Writers. She usually picks movies that I wouldn't let my own mother watch LOL. I am going to continue going cold turkey and stay close to here. I need to do this for me and it is the hardest addiction I have dealt with. I have had other addictions and have a quit of 16years. This by far has been rough but I have had some really good days and look forward to having better days more often. I know I could do this but not alone. It'll be awhile before I could go it alone. So please bear with me in my bad days and moods. I am Incredibly grateful to all of you!!! Killing The Grizzly Again

Hi Cowboy it does get better I promise!!! It may not seem like there is a light at the end of this journey but there is and you will be there soon. One of the guys I work with quit using chew by getting that big chew gum. It comes in different flavors and went through a bunch of it but it worked. He also used the patch. What ever it takes to stay quit then do it. The irritability will also go away. Your doing so well hang in there!! FOCUS on the Ugly

I'm so glad I quit too. We were all suckered for too long. I still worry about the lasting effects of all the chemicals we put in our body. I recently had some test done and have to go for more because something was found. I regret putting off smoking as long as I did but I'm glad that I finally did.
