Anticipating a trigger

You're BOTH freakin' gorgeous! I was an anti-social smoker type too. I'm so glad it all worked out and you're even stronger because of that experience aloha. I'm learning from you two... whether you know it or not:) Thanks... Anticipating a trigger

Hi! Good to hear from you too! I'm having trouble updating my picture thingy correctly. I did have one pic up with the tower for a bit and lost it when I was diddling around with another so you probably did see me for a flash, aloha. Maybe this one of all of us will show up this time? If it does, I'm in the middle, papa kitty is on the left and baby kitty is on the right:) I'm doing alright. I was doing fabulous, but it's been really hard again the last few days. I think that anti-social part of me needs to learn new rewards for myself during times of familiar life... Like tonight, I was digging into some piles that needed going through, and trying to put up little lights under our old kitchen cabinets for a treat - and got overwhelmed. So? Here I am:) I was also away for awhile because I've been keeping myself busy with yoga classes and trying to walk the dog inbetween for some exercise and balance. I'm unhappy that I've put on some weight. Junky has been telling me to smoke so I won't nibble so much... You know how that goes. I could gain weight when I smoked too:) The life style change is hard enough (so many benefits though!) but the mental changes are most trying... I think I'll have to visit here more often:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 810 Amount Saved: $216.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 15 Mins: 26 Seconds: 30

Reflections

Happy belated Birthday Sparky! I'm glad you had a good one, and are happily smoke-free:) You're a great inspiration to me. In fact, you were among those who replied to my very first post. Thanks! Write as much as you want, any time:) xxx-ooo MK My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 810 Amount Saved: $216.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 15 Mins: 27 Seconds: 48

Help? Slipping Game...

Hey buddies... It's time to fess up. (OUCH) I've been playing the slipping game. I've been avoiding you, and reading here tonight. I want out of my hiding place before I get too comfy, and off my pity pot before I play long enough to win (where the winning prize is failure and slow death) I have been playing the game of saying "well, I may have smoked this many cigs, but I didn't smoke this many hundred..." I hate it that I love to hide (accomplished closet smoker with 33+ years of experience - but I'd never put THAT on my resume...) so I'm whipping the covers off myself. WHAAA!!! I just think it's in my best interest to tell on myself. Know what I mean? So... what should I do now. Keep going as I am? Start over with a new quit date? Since I started here and slipped on and off, I bet I smoked about 25 cigs over time. Feeling... unflattering... mamakitty My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 885 Amount Saved: $236.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 3 Mins: 54 Seconds: 10

Help? Slipping Game...

Thanks Sparky and Unhooked for your honesty and quick replies. (I love you guys:) I needed that - and I want to WANT to get quit for good. It's scary to see how quickly I can slide back into that old groove so easily. My junky is so muscular that I think I'm going to have to do more than occasional yoga classes and walking the dog. I'm gonna have to start running or something really extreme for this make over. Let me think about how I want to handle this... Quietly, like playing double dutch jump rope, and waiting for the right moment to jump in again with both feet timed... or with some family wailing and repenting? Hmmm. I think I see a growth spurt approaching. No lies Mrs. Unhooked... I might have to family meet when I'm ready (and before I'm caught) restart my Chantix (nausea, gas, flaky brains and bad sex, but? hey... I hear it's not forever:) and post again somewhere with my new quit date. Would I have to reintroduce myself? I don't think it will be long... cuz I know the longer I wait the harder it will be to get back on that pony... Thanks again you two... I'll be back. Help? Slipping Game...

Love you too alohakeia... Thanks for that post. I'll clean my slate and do my homework again. You ladies are so smart! Thanks for caring... I do too, but need to wrestle with this self talk issue big time. I need to build up my argument with myself so I don't feel like I'm wearing someone else's mask to cheerlead another team when I'm flailing around inside with my own. Some day I want to genuinely be able to give assurance and great support to others. It's hard to accept all this great stuff from you all, when I don't feel like I have much to return for non-smoking support right now. Help? Slipping Game...

That's right Unhooked:) and there are no ponies within miles... I'm so glad you're not disappointed. That gives me peaceful hope somehow. Help? Slipping Game...

I think the analogy of getting back on the pony (of quitting) sentence was just too close to the sentence where I complained a little about Chantix and less satisfying sex. No offense Mr. Ed:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 885 Amount Saved: $236.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 4 Mins: 2 Seconds: 19

Thursday night Bonfire!

Thanks for the invite alohakeia:) Great way to end this day... with a bonfire, friends sharing thoughts that really matter... no cigarettes:) Anna, it's a hundred degrees here too and humid! Good basil weather. How 'bout some pesto on crackers? (Hey Sparky, how do you get your cat off your monitor when you're trying to type?) Tomorrow is a new day... mk My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 885 Amount Saved: $236.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 4 Mins: 4 Seconds: 12
