Good-Bye Lover

so kewl hemp GOOD FOR YOU!... I'm at five days myself and it gives me such plessure to read that the next week will be better. I never want to go back to day 1... !!! Keep up the good work so we can count together how may good days are ahead. Also, I was taking smoke breaks on my patio.. I would fiddle with my flowers while I smoked... I've forgotten about my patio these last 5 days... I must get out there and make a new ritual!! xo marcy

Too Much Nic from Patch???

Good a.m. all! First of all, thank you for all the wonderful advise from my prior posts. My question today is... am I od'ing on nic from the 21 mg patch. I did fine the first day or so.. two nights ago in the late afternoon I experienced a great amount of fatigue, headache, and I was very nauseated. LAST NIGHT it was twice as bad. I could barely drive home from work. Once I got home I jerked that 21 mg off and didn't replace it. I began to feel better as the night proceeded. I slept without the patch (fitful, but okay) and this morning put a 14 mg on. DO YOU THINK I WAS GETTING TOO MUCH NIC??? Thank you in advance for your advise. Marcy

Husband quit two weeks ago .. he's fine I'm very grouchy!!

Hi all.. I'm working on my third day. I started smoking very late in life (40... don't ask).. I quit once for three years and started again cuz something stupid.. now I'm quiting again. My husband quit almost two weeks ago.. he was very ill and that was reason enough for him.. He's breezing along fine COLD TURKEY.. if he's not he's doing a good job of not showing it... However, I'm a wreck.. I'm grouchy, quick tempered, almost in tears at times AND I'M ON WELLBUTRIN AND THE PATCH... I don't remember this happening the first time I quit... I know it's all a mind game, but I feel sometimes like someone has died... like I'm grieving.. it's horrible... but I'm a hanging... Appreciate any advise... and encouragement!!! :gasp: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 41 Amount Saved: $6 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 19 Seconds: 49

NRT and wellbutrin... I'm a little intimated...~~

After reading so many discussions... I'm a little concerned.. I'm on wellbutrin for depression issues not related to smoking. BUT I'm on the patch as well. My concern is everyone seems to be doing well without the patch and just taking Chantix . I'm concerned that when I go to the next level 14 mg that I'll be freaking out ... I'm on my 4th day of 21 mgs and feeling better as my previous posts have stated earlier today... hardly any craving.. triggers are reduced.. Any advise??

Husband quit two weeks ago .. he's fine I'm very grouchy!!

Thank you everyone who responded. You are so right about my husband's quit not comparing to mine. He is a man and true he doesn't share his feelings.. even though I try to pry it out of him, but after 18 years... I'm learning.. ha!.. He did admit (wow!!) yesterday that he was snapping at me cuz of the withdrawal... duh to me.. I didn't add two plus two when he snapped. I'm doing much better so far today. Last night wasn't too bad compared to my first couple of nights. I was way too tired to exercise like I did on Monday evening... and from reading some of your posts... I don't need to beat myself up cuz I didn't. I guess I need to give myself a break from worrying about another job, going back to school, my son in the Air Force (since 9/06), etc. I'm just going to give myself a break and sloooooowwww down.. I've also clipped a picture of a pair of healthy lungs and I'm taping to the calendar each day so I can look at it with pride... It will be four days at 10 am today!!! Take care and thank you very much for your support... keep on keeping on!!! Marcy

what am i doing?

I know exactly what you're thinking. I did the same thing.. and when I was outside having my smoke and someone would walk by... I would duck for cover not to offend thme with my nasty smoke. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!!!! It is another "good thing" that we don't have to avoid people because of our habit. Keep on keeping on!!!! Marcy

This really struck a chord...hidden treasures

Great discussion.. Should make each one of us think. I don't think the perfume or the gum helped. I remember when I went home to visit my parents with my son. I stayed in a motel and would go and vist in the morning and stay all day. I'd go all day without a smoke BUT would enjoy a few puffs in the morning before I went. I would lather the lotion/perfume/gum on thinking I had them fooled. My son was quick to point out "they aren't dumb, mom"... .you can still smell it!!!... It does feel good at this infant stage of my "quit" that I won't have to do that anymore. And, in fact, I think I'll go out and treat myself to my favorite perfume and enjoy the scent (that I'm getting back slowly) without the smoky effects added. Keep on keeping on!!! Marcy

You saved me...

I totally understand your feelings of "being alone in a crowd" and you're right about this site.. At first, I thought, yeah, right, like this is going to help, but it does!!! When I get to work it's the first thing I'm pulling up. I'm not suppose to surf the net at work, but I thought the heck with them... they should realie I'm doing something positive with my life and if this helps they should be happy and supportive... I'm still a work horse and work by far harder than most.. so I don't think I'll get any flack. We are here for you!!! another thing... my sense of smell is surprising me.. I walked by some flowering bushes (live in CA) last night and I actually could smell them. I could actually smell the nasty blooming tree a few feet away too. but it was just wonderful and surprising that I didn't even realize I had been missing these wonderful treats of life. Keep on keeping on!!! Marcy

REWARDS.....

Rewards... smoother skin? Really? I try to take good care of my skin since I'm over the hill and I must admit I'm pretty proud of the way it looks. No happy with the little veins that have popped up... is that caused from smoking? this skin thing is really exciting me!! I'm four days at 10 am PST and my reward is just to relax a little about my day to day events and try not to worry as much and permit myself to endulge... Marcy
