I am quiting smoking with this sites help for the first time. I quit twice before, once for about a year, and once for about 6 months. I smoked on average about a pack and a half a day. I am quiting for my health as well as the people around me, my girlfriend and her twin girls!

Last night at 10:30pm EST, I made it to the 72 hour mark. I am now at about 82 hours, and counting. I am very happy to reach that 72 hour goal!

Penquin, Hey there! I also quit on Sunday evening. I only have a hand full of hours left to make it to the 72 hour mark. I hope you are doing well today. I have had a few touchy spots. I have snapped at my girlfriend a few times. Same things that usaully bug me that I would just let go, but today I complained a little. She knows it is because of the quit, so she is cool.

I have seen a few people talking about getting their NOPE braclets. Is there a certain time frame that you wait to get these or is it up to the individual? Thanks!

Butterfly swimmer, that is pretty funny stuff. I know I have only been on my quit for 3 days, but I have had some little experiences.
I have caught myself driving and all of a sudden opening my window, like I am ready to light up. I have got a chuckle out of it each time it happens. The other one may not be really that funny, but I can smell things again. I went to get something out of my girlfriends car and could smell her perfume, I hugged her and could smell the perfume the rest of the afternoon, then I get home and she hugs me and I just sit there smelling her hair spray. I guess the funny part is how much I enjoy these new smells!!!

The times I failed at this before were do to, thinking I could smoke one or two cigs and not start back.
