Hello everyone! I was here back in October, when I tried to quit (for the 700th time, it feels like) I did not do very well then, only made it a week, I was terribly stressed and that seems to be the common denominator for me.So have spent the last four & a half months smoking and wishing I could quit again so I could feel better.
Finally the time has come. I find I really have to have my head in the right place to do this. I quit yesterday am, and so far am doing okay, just wanting to munch a little more than usual. Am on the patch, and plan this time to double the time on each step as to gove me extra time to get used to the lower dose of nicotine. I have had trouble in the past when I finally get off the paych so am trying to plan ahead. I find it so wonderful to have a place to come and share the experiences. The other night I watched "Intervention" about drug addictions etc, and it was particularily motivating (as cigs are a drug too).Am looking forward to coming on site, to read up and chat with you all. Glad to be back!

Thanks for all the support guys! I am on day 3 and finding it going good so far. I am trying to keep this thought in mind "I am doing my own "intervention" because I want to live."
It is so great to be able to talk about ir here, rather than friends & family giving me the gears (Are you still smokig? Didn't you quit before?) It is something that only other smokers can understand!
Thanks again!

Simon, we all have this downfall - we're human. It has happened to me many times, but as the old syaing goes..
Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and quit all over again!
You just need more tools in your toolbox of how to deal with it.
Keep on trying!

Try a saucer of vinegar, sitting on a table for a few hours. It may help, vinegar does help remove odours. :)

Hey Mitch! You're doing great! Try having a peppermint after meals.
That really helped me, and it helps with the tummy too. After a few days, I craved a mint instead of a smoke! Now I don't crave either!
It all seems to be a means of finding a distraction or diversions from the crave.
Keep on going, One day at a time, Not One Ouff Ever! :)
