Hang in there, TSIKOS. That stupid ol nicotine is just jerking your chain. It doesn't want to loose you! Let him know that you are in charge and soon he will be a much smaller part of your life.
I started my third day of freedom by getting robbed! Some SOB broke into my shop and stole all my tools. I met the police, filled out the report and called my insurance agent without even thinking about a cigarette. I sure hope this isn't a typical day of not smoking!
Windy-
I just ate lunch and really had a craving. I jumpped right up and came to SCC. Feeling better now. Maybe we can get one of those cool new cell phones that let you access the web. (Probably would cost more than smoking) I guess we'll have to stay close to the computer until we get totally cured!
I'm a 55 year old, former professional athelete. Last January, I decided I needed to get myself back into some kind of shape. I have lost over 20 pounds and have been working out at least twice a week. However, I was still smoking. Those are minor milestones in trying to get my body back together. Now that I have quit smoking, I can really begin to feel that I am getting fit, again!

It has been three weeks today. After smoking for thirty plus years and quitting numerous times, this is the first time I feel like I have really quit. This site has been a huge help. I check in several times everyday and it really reinforces my quit. I quit cold turkey and really didn't have that much trouble. The one thing I have to remember is NOPE! (Not one puff ever). Thank you SSC for helping me get rid of this insidious addiction.

I am now on day 9 and doing well! I have had a cough, (to be expected) and a runny nose. I must blow my nose fifty times a day! Is anyone else having this? My poor little (OK,not so little) nose is getting worn out.
Hi, Claire- Like you, I smoked for many years, Have tried to quit several times, usually with dismal results. I have now been fourteen days and doing great. I come to this site several times every day and it strenghtens my resolve to never smoke again. Hang in there and every day will get easier!
