The Junkie Within

I'm starting to treat my junkie like the jerk that he is. Today while waiting for the bus, he compared all of the pricing at the cigarette stores. What I'm happy about is that I am aware of the fact that I have a junkie. Tired

I think this whole thing can just be sneaky. You have to drop the junkie just like you would drop any other jerk that you meet. I've imagined that I've smell smoke. I believe that quitting smoking is difficult because it is not a habit. it is a collection of habits, and each habit has to be broken when we come across it. We'll come across some habit more quickly and more often than others. That is why this fight goes on for so long. Remember, you can choose not to smoke. Does the want ever go away?

Yes. It does. I quit for two years once, and I didn't have cravings. (Read my story in introductions.) I have a friend who quit five years before I did twenty years ago and she does not smoke and says she does not crave it at all. So yes it does get better, but to get confortable, you might need to learn to tame the junkie. Treat it like the jerk that it is. quit meter died--sorry june bugs--sorry niks

I think the fighting is just an excuse to smoke. The bad thing about excuses is that you will always have one. I was fighting with my significant other last week. We decided to take a break from each other. I put my foot down about some things first. And boy, am I ever known for being really serious about stuff like this. Day 25 & I Can't Sleep & I've Got Diarrhea

When I tried to quit a little over a year ago being half this sick was too much for me, so I started back smoking. I just wish I could sleep for more than one hour at a time. Having bipolar disorder probably is not helping here. I'm just wondering how long this stomach upset will last? Day 25 & I Can't Sleep & I've Got Diarrhea

Actaully, the diarrhea didn't start right away. I think i've had it for the past week. Some of it may be caused by this diabetes pill I'm taking. I told the doctor when she prescibe it, that I would give it one week. While the one week is really only two days. I told her that the pill makes me nauseous. This time I think it has caused the diarrhea. However, I still this I have some gastrointestinal problems. I just saw the doctor July 31st and will see her again August 14th. Funny, the diabetes has disappeared again, and I have been drinking juice and soda and eating whatever I want. The diabestes seems to be induced by my bipolar meds. As soon as I stop as certain class of them, my blood sugar always falls. I Ain't Gonna Make It , Guys

Thank you, everyone. I realize that I am going to have to get through crises without smoking, but I think I just did not have enough time under my belt to handle this one. I started craving so bad again. It wasn't until I smoked that I got some clarity. Don't get be wrong, especially newcomers, I don't think that smoking made me smarter. I think that I just could see through the craving. I haven't smoked since 1:00 am and will reset my clock to one day tomorrow. You've all been great! Smoking was lousy. No. I don't want to romanticize by talking about it. I did spend the night at a sleep clinic. The technicina said my sleeping was horrid. After three hours the put a mask on me. I think that a number of the test I've had recently explains by I had such a terrible time with the last quit. I'll be okay.
