I'm new here

I am quitting smoking for the fourth time in 8 years. My current record was my last attempt, when I went cold turkey in 2001. I last 32 days before I had a cigarette. I hope this website will help me in my efforts to be smoke free. I think I am going to use the patch to help with cravings in the first few weeks, does anyone know which patch is good or have any success stories with the patch? Yoga & Meditation

I decided to go back to yoga, something I did before smoking, since I am quitting. I remembered a book called 28 days of yoga, and it's really good. It has a 28 day plan to get the body prepared for the more complex posistions and breathing that yoga requires. I would recomend it.

Stuck in a loop.

After 2 days of non-smoking I am doing really good. I not really that shakey or adgitated, but then I am using the patch to help with the cravings. The thing that is getting to me though is the habit of mgoing to have a cigarette. I'll think hey it's about time for a cigarette, then right away remember I quit smoking and decide to do something else and before I realize it, literally less than a second later, I think I could go for a smoke and the whole thing starts over again. Is this normal and if so does it go away? I think alot of times I'd step outside for a smoke because I was bored or to break up the day now I can't do that so when I am bored I automatically jump right back into that thought process. I am holding strong though and not smoking. Thanks for all your support. -Vee My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 17 Amount Saved: $5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 27 Seconds: 34

Depressed

It has been around 6 days since I quit smoking and I seem to be getting more and more depressed. I think it's probably due to the fact I lost my job awhile back. The main reason I quit smoking is that I could no longer afford it. Anyways life seems to be getting more and more hopeless as the days pass. I half thought that quitting smoking would make me feel better because I was doing something for my betterment. Does the depression pass or is it even caused by quitting? -Vee My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 46 Amount Saved: $12.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 5 Seconds: 8
