Hey New Life...

Hi Ronko, The 3rd days was the worst one for me, hang in there - it will be better. What helped me was to take deep breaths, it calmed me down and I forgot about the cravings. You can also look at the cravings as something positive - you are getting rid of all the bad stuff in your body caused by the cigarettes. i need help

I totally understand how you feel. A fight wiht your spouse is a huge trigger and I am very proud that you hanging in there. When you have an argument with your spouse, just walk away, take deep breaths and calm yourself down. It's sad that he doesn't support your quitt, is he a smoker? In the past when I have tried to quitt and I had a fight with my spouse, he always claimed my "mood" was because I tried to quitt. It made me so mad and trigged the urged to smoke so bad. You are doing so good on your 4th day - don't let your husband spoiled if for you. Be strong for yourself, you have mad a very good decision to quitt smoking. does everyone gain weight?

I have lost weight since I quitt smoking, not much - 2 1/2 lb, but I am so glad I don't gain weight. I started to walk for about 30-45 min every day from the very first day of my quitt. I didn't have any cravings for candy the first couple of weeks, but the last days my cravings for chocolate is huge! It's almost as bad as for the nicotine cravings the first week. I have to leave my money at home, otherwise I will go to the wending-machine at work and by me Snickers :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 308 Amount Saved: $90 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 9 Mins: 38 Seconds: 33

3 weeks!

It hasn't always been easy, but I have made it to 3 weeks ;) I am very proud of myself but also afraid I will lose it. There is no smokers around me and I just don't know how I will react when I see/feel someone smoke around me. I know this is mainly a good thing and it has been helpful for my quitt, but it also makes me afraid of my reaction when I finally have to face a smoker. Well, I guess I should not worry about it, today I should just CELEBRATE! Nicotine-free days vs Smoking-free days?

Just one thought that i have; It has to be some different related to time for quitters using NRT and "Cold Turkey" quitters? What I mean is that if a NRT quitter is on let's say day 74 as a non-smoker but on day 7 as a nicotine-free person, couldn't that compare with week 2 (or something like that) for a Cold Turkey quitter? The reason I am thinking about this is because sometimes I read postst from quitters that has hugh cravings late in the quit, and I don't know if the reason might be that they have used/using NRT? Any thoughts, someone? :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 22 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 339 Amount Saved: $99 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 15 Mins: 20 Seconds: 4
