Shortest major slip in SSC history?
Pain and change seems to cause growth and understanding and sometimes, contentment.
CobenFan, what you stated above is so very true. Ter, thank you for your words. I finally got a good night's sleep last night. Been up for a few hours now and feel the tears coming. Why? For all kinds of reasons.. BUT I will NOT smoke! I've written an email to Phil to get a lot of things out in the open - it's cleansing in some way for me to write out my feelings... And now I have to become physically active to burn off the anxieties I'm feeling. Also, would like to get out of this thread.. need to start something new ya know? Right now I can't think of a heading which best describes what I'm feeling.. any ideas? Hugs and love ... The Space Between

Robb, 1st of all.. congrats on your 17 days smoke free! Keep strong! 2nd of all.. you said >>
I'm prob gonna vent a bit and ramble on so pardon me in advance.
This is what this site is for, venting, rambling, etc.. I learned that the hard way. I lost my 66 days because I didn't come here in crucial moments and you never have to apologize! You're doing so well.. Very proud of you :) Monica58 My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 48 Amount Saved: $18 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 24 Seconds: 34

Why?

Yes Danielle that is exactly what I did with all of your ideas and suggestions. And I totally agree with NewPapa..
We may fall off many times but if we learn from the mistakes that prompted the relapse, we can ride that horse longer and longer each time until we are on it like glue.
Very inspiring by both Danielle and NewPapa :) Monica58 My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 52 Amount Saved: $18 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 0 Seconds: 33

M-How are you doing?

Went out this morning for a walk to get rid of some anxiety. It hasn't been a very easy day - especially this afternoon. My in-laws were over and they are so kind and very supportive, but they are on the loud(ish) side and that made me feel antsy. I left the room to do some deep breathing and then after they left I wrote in my journal. I'm now listing all triggers of anxiety. And then going to place a check mark beside each trigger noting that one occurred and the circumstance. I'm keeping stats on a variety of triggers - anxiety, cravings, crying, fatigue (emotional and physical) and then when I see my dr. show these to him and get some additional professional advice from him. I can't say enough how much the deep breathing and my own space alone really does help me. I am also incorporating some light exercises into my day. I have a stationary bike (which for the last several yrs is used as a clothes hanger) and just today rode it for approx. 15 mins. I'm taking it all one moment at a time. I am not looking into the future at all - not even tomorrow, just right now! M-How are you doing?

Thank you Luna :) I am protecting my quit with my life... and I need to do everything I can think of, as well as pick up pointers from a variety of posts. It's so strange how I 'thought' I had things under control, but I was so wrong and now, since my slip and the loss of those 66 days quit -I'll be damned if I'm not fully armoured with all ammunition to grab and beat the hell out of that nicodemon! IT will never come to my temple again.. Treating my body as a temple, the way it SHOULD have been treated all those years ago! The past is the past and the 'present' is what I am giving to myself each and every day! I am so in awe of your quit stats.. very impressed and you must be so proud!
