I lurked and read a lot before signing onto SSC.
To all you veteran quitters, thank you for staying here and offering advice and encouragement. It's because of you that I joined.

Hi Islandgirl,
It's true, as you know, a lot of caregivers smoke. No one's exempt from this terrible addiction. I found myself rationalizing why I smoked during breaks. Things like, I've had such a stressful day, one of my patients just passed-away. The ironic thing about it, a lot of my patients died of smoke related diseases. I guess I was in denial or just plain crazy to smoke.
I feel so sorry for those who had to endure the smoking odour that followed me back into the hospital! I will be grabbing onto you you and others for support! I really don't want to smoke anymore!

Do you know the name of the little book? I would love to read it!
Have a wonderful evening and don't work too hard. On second thought, keep working - good distraction! Hehehe

Quitting is easier than -
- being told you have cancer
- trying to find the words to tell your children
- being fitted for an oxygen mask/tank to help you breath
