I was first diagnosed with depression at round about the age of 46-47. I'm now 50 and have been in and out of varying levels of this beastie ever since. I have had social anxiety ever since adolescence and I think I have been depressed most of that time - I just didn't name the feelings with that name or seek help.

Depression normally occurs in early adulthood. About half of all people who have panic disorder develop the condition before age 24.
