Hi Denzil, I am on day 3. Been doing ok up until now, and now really suffering. Feeling a bit low, after a few days feeling completely spaced out. I now just feel depressed and vulnerable, I know thats pathetic but that is where my head is right now. Yeah i can identify with that Andy. The deep breathing is great. It relaxes me and calms me, and gives a similar feeling to smoking - yet its free and not doing me any harm. I love that. I was really going through it earlier this evening. It was a relief to post and people reply I really appreciated that. I feel ok now. You are also doing well at day 8 Andy... stick to it, and you will always be ahead of me!! Well done! Denzil and Niks, You are both doing great! What you're feeling is normal and just part of the process. Come here when you feel miserable, just don't smoke. What is working for me is logging on here, lots of deep breathing during cravings, and sometimes just going to bed (nights are harder for me) We CAN all do this! The reward I have planned is to purchase more gym equipment. hoping to improve the mind and the body. Thanks for the support. Evenings are still the worst including the 1 hour drive home alone. Denzil, Your doing a great job. Just wanted to let you know that I had a 90 minute drive to work when I quit. (Still do for that matter) and the way I filled it in was to chew on cinnamon sticks, you can smoke them (pretend], chew them, or just hold them in your hand. They are about the size of a cig, and keep your hands busy. I bought mine at the dollar store. Much cheaper than the grocery. And they are fat free! Hi, Denzil. Nicotine inhibits the effects of caffeine. When you quit and the nicotine goes away, caffeine begins having a much greater effect. When I quit, I started mixing 1 caffeinated with 2 decafs. Still got enough caffeine for the morning kick to get going and the 2 decafs made it strong enough to taste good. You're doing great, Denzil. Congratulations on 3 smoke-free days. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 387 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,755 Amount Saved: $1470.6 Life Gained: Days: 72 Hrs: 6 Mins: 55 Seconds: 40
