Effects of Massage Therapy on Stress

11 years ago 0 373 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
This is another way that my life has improved since having my "wake up call" last year.  I never before considered massage therapy as a way to improve my health.  In the last few months, I have been fortunate enough to be able to see a licensed massage therapist on a few different occasions and I believe that these visits are directly related to my improved health, both mental and physical.

It is a sort of relationship Hugs.

If you are feeling isolated perhaps it's the touch part that you find theraputic. Human's need touch so it would make sense that massage therapy may help in that respect.

Hi Ashley,
I find this helpful before dental work, which makes me cringe.  It's also helpful if I'm going thru a time which is isolating, and I can't get out, since it's really a relationship, isn't it?

Our focus in recent weeks has been on stress management. The positive effects of massage therapy have been widely studied in children, adults & older adults. The listed benefits from head to toe include:
  • Decreased incidence of headaches related to tension.
  • Improved mood, decreased anxiety. Children with autism showed a decrease in problem behaviors.
  • Improved circulation & decreased blood pressure. In surgical patients, faster healing & recovery rates were noted.
  • Better posture, decrease muscle tension, joint pain, range of motion. In pregnant women it helps alleviate discomfort.
  • Better sleeping patterns in babies, children & adults.
Have any members found this therapy beneficial?
