How Embarrassing!

That's okay Shari, everyone spells my name wrong, especially my last name. Kaitie is actually short for Kaitlyn, so that's why it has the extra 'i' ;)

Aww that's cute! Haha yes, I'm not surprised you no longer want a jar of fleas, they're not very nice. It's funny though how when we're little we always love the strangest things. I used to pick up snails all the time and even used some of Mum's good Tupperware to keep them, but now I can't stand the sight of them!

Sometimes I think it would be nice to keep some of that naive innocence :)

Hi Kaitie,

I just realized I've been misspelling your name.  You would think since I spell my name Shari, instead of Sherry, I would have been more aware of name spelling.  Sorry about that :)

Your banana bender story reminded me of when I was little and believed that a Flea Market sold Fleas.  I was all excited to go with my relatives and get a jar of Fleas and then all of the adults laughed at me and told me that is was a market place where people sold lots of things, but not Fleas.  I was disappointed.  But, after growing up and having rescued lots of dogs and cats, over the years, who were loaded with Fleas, I am no longer disappointed, nor do I desire to own a jar of Fleas :) :) :)

Gosh, when aren't I embarrassing myself! Haha
When I was 11, I used to take everything seriously and to heart, I would lay in bed thinking about what silly things I had done during the day and punish myself about it and this continued for years. It's only been in the past couple of years that I've learnt to laugh it off, and now that I'm more confident I'm a lot less awkward. You definitely learn these things as you get older.

Now for some embarrassing moments.. There was that time I believed bananas were only bendy in Queensland (where I live) because our nickname is apparently the 'banana benders' according to a tv show that had just started and all my friends watch it. A few days later my friend came to school with a banana that happened to be straight and she said, 'Look Kaitie, it's a banana from New South Wales!' Haha awkward..

There was also the time I broke my humurus (ironic much?) falling off a slide in a park when I playing with my little cousins.. Only thing is I was 16 at the time, and then had to go to school the next day with a sling and tell everyone what had happened, even my teachers (I tried to lie but no one believed me). I didn't get out of any work though, I still had to write with that hand!

Oh and Shari, like your nuts ;) haha

When I worked for an attractive manager, a colleague and i were often manipulated by her at appraisal time, we felt.
She’d wear a revealing top, and we loathed going to the meeting for our quarterly appraisal, since we couldn’t focus on the conversation.

Afterwards we’d just complain and laugh with  each other, and wonder why she just didn’t fill in the blanks her self, and send the document via interoffice mail, since we were unable to assert ourselves

I laugh about it.  A long time ago, when my best friend Chris and I were in our early twenties, we went to the Mall.  They had a candy Kiosk where they sold cashews, almonds, trail mix and various candies.  The candy guy asked, "Can I help you?"  And, I said, "No thanks, we're just looking at your nuts."  I couldn't believe I said that!  Chris and I just ran away from embarrassment, but then we started laughing about it.

No one likes to be embarrassed; in fact, remembering a past embarrassment can elicit quite a pang of emotional discomfort even a long time after the actual event. So how do you get over that past hurt? Talk about it! Or better yet laugh about it!

Please share some of your embarrassing moments. The more the better!
