Hi Betts,
 Congratulations on making it 3 weeks now as a quitter.  You are in the blah weeks now, and even though you may not think that you are making any progress, you are. Your body is healing from the damage of  the cigarettes, and each day you don't smoke,  you are getting stronger to resist the urges that still exist. It's okay to blow off some steam when things get tough, and even shedding a tear or two will help sometimes. Remember to use your breathing exercises too. They really help both now and down the road in the future. I'm going on 6 years smoke free in a few more months and I am still using the breathing exercises. Granted, its not for fighting urges anymore, but it really helps to cut down on the stress from everyday life...and the unexpected bad things that happen that we have no control over. 
 How are you doing today? 3 weeks is a great milestone, at least it was for me. Each day for you is a new milestone, and you need to reward yourself once in awhile for doing it.  We all know how addictive the nicotine is, and each day without it is another day of freedom. If it's still hard right now, at lest you can look forward to knowing that IT WILL GET EASIER soon. Keep fighting it one day, one hour, one minute at a time.

Hi Betts,
 One day at a time is all it takes. Just concentrate on the here and now and don't worry or fret about tomorrow. Soon the days will be adding up quickly for you. You are on day 4 already if I'm counting right. Hell week is more than half over now, and you're STILL a quitter!  Be proud of what you have accomplished so far, it's not easy by any means.  Each day is a new milestone for you, so be sure and celebrate each day too. Watch out for all those triggers and try and stay away from the alcohol for awhile if you drink.

Hi Betts, I wish you fortitude and determination with your quit. I found it super helpful to spend a lot of time on this site and to post as a I went along. There is a lot of great support here as well as a ton of helpful information and shared experience.

Hi Betts,
 I wish you best on your quit journey. Did you learn anything on your previous quit attempts? Each time you failed, hopefully you learned what happened so the next time you would be ready to fight the trigger that made you fail. The more times you try to quit, the stronger you get for taking back control of your life from those nasty cancer sticks.  How long have you smoked, and how many a day? Have you tried using nicotine replacement therapy before? If cold turkey won't work for you there are a number of NRT products out there to help you beat this addiction. If you have the time, go through the "my program" program at the top of the page, and read through these forums. There is a lot of great information and tips and hints to help you on your journey to freedom. Keep us posted on your progress to. It helps to re-enforce your quit, and it gives other people thinking about quitting, the gumption to give it a go.
