 Congratulations on starting your quit journey. Two days is great and something to be proud of!  I used the patch to help me quit, and had some really weird and bizarre dreams the first two nights. So weird that I quit using them at night and put them on first thing in the morning.  That took care of the dreams and didn't really have a craving for a smoke either. 
 Venting is good,  and a blog or diary is something to look back on later and get a chuckle out of if you stick with it, and if you slip, you might know why so you can be prepared for it the next time. We write some strange stuff  while dealing with the withdrawal of nicotine, and the changing of our routines as a quitter.  Hang in there, it will get easier as time goes by. 
Stay strong and watch out for those triggers.

Day 2, you already got further than the last time!  How are you doing today?  I have had a severe uptick in stress dreams and vivid dreams since I began this quit - initially it was due to the Champix, but I haven't had any of that for weeks now and the dreams still come.  I'm alright with them, I just kind of got used to it and expect it will go away when things are back in balance.  I've been eating more dessert type items as well since I quit, so it might just be the extra sugar as well... Either way, I'd rather have funky dreams for a while than funky breath/clothes/vehicle for the rest of my life.

Nightmares is common after quit  smoke especially  if you quit smoke weed or  marijuana .The reason of those nightmares in some cases is the NTR's.....That is what I know.

Thanks to you both. Thats so true for me too Stellablue, that l dont make a huge mountain out of this in my mind...or else lm sure to fail. Im trying to treat it like no big deal. Well lm on day 2 and doing fine with the support of NRTs. Sleeping was hard though. I had some sweats and nightmares. Did this happen to anyone else?

Hi Sparrow, welcome to the wonderful world of quitting! I'm so glad to see you posting here right away after your slip - I think that bodes well for you. I really find it helpful to post here a lot as I go along my quit, and it's nice to get the ongoing support. It feels like a big change to quit, but now that I'm a little bit into it, I can see how I was catastrophizing things earlier on - which was my addiction's way of protecting itself. If I built it up into this huge issue, then failing would feel justified. This quit I treated differently, like it was not such a big deal it was just something I was doing, if that makes sense. I also used a bit of Champix for the first few weeks to take the edge off the cravings and help me keep the attitude of "this isn't a big deal, I'm just not smoking." I look forward to your posts, stick around!!!

Good preparation before quitting smoking is the solution to avoid  Slip in the future, so dust off and start again ....You can do this.

I flopped my first day. I had a stressful situation come up and caved. I really noticed my stress trigger and how l have such a knee jerk reaction that says l need a smoke coz lm stressed. l have to adjust my thought pattern....that l CAN handle stressful episodes without smoking. Its so engrained. 
Im starting again tomorrow. I have organised things to have minimal stress though l know the stress will come from quitting. The best thing l can do is rewire my brain to believe l can cope with stress in other ways.
