Talk about divine reminder! I went to the grocery store today and there was an older gentleman coming toward me. When he got closer I noticed he had the larynx surgery (where they talk out of the throat after cancer removal) and I thought to myself...."There by the grace of God could go I!" I have never met anyone with this condition before and perhaps this was a coincidence but it removed any craving I had immediately. Welcome from another newbie to this site! I haven't had any joint pain or sinus issues since going on chantix but i have had the dreams! Nothing vivid as they say but constant. It helps that i keep telling myself : Smoking is not an option! I am a Chantix quitter as well. However, I never experienced any joint pain...might be something to ask your Dr. about. So glad you have joined us here! Hmm...Death Wish and Home Improvement, all in the same dream, and a romantic one at that!! Chantix is great for keeping the heebeejeebees (sp?) at bay. That is the greatest thing about it. That and the fact that they began to taste awful. And I do remember the huge amount of time that I suddenly had on my hands. In the beginning it was a concious effort to occupy that time but gradually it became a non issue. Actually, I took up walking as one way to spend the time. I figured if I quit for my health, why not take on some healthy activities and eating habits. I needed to actually because I was gaining weight. Now the weight gain has leveled off. But it does sound like using the stuff like you should. I think I misunderstood a little in your first post so I wanted to check up on ya. Your on your way my friend. Keep your gaurd up at all times. Have a great day! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 101 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,028 Amount Saved: $282.8 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 20 Mins: 49 Seconds: 6

HI Audrey, I'm in Charlotte :) Actually I remember all my wild dreams. Last night Charles Bronson and Tim Allen both hit on me! lol How about that for wild?? Anyway.... My doc said I might be getting some side-effects, such as nausea, but I haven't really been bothered with that too much. As long as I eat with the pill I'm fine. I took the starter week, then three at 2 mg a day (morning and eve). The taste of cigarettes immediately changed but the habit of smoking them did not. I was so used to smoking with certain activities. Like, talking on the phone, cruising the net, driving, after dinner, you know... I stopped on day 8 the first time and that lasted 2 days. Smoked for another three and stopped again. Weekends are rough because I have more free time, so I am constantly trying to find stuff to do. But truly, the crazy days of quitting cold turkey never happened. It was an UNlearning process but I think I'm fine now. PS. Yes it is horrible out today. Where did the sun go??? :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 227 Amount Saved: $38.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 2 Mins: 33 Seconds: 0

Hey Amazon! Welcome to our wonderful support group. I also am from NC. Kind of rainy today but the weekend should be nice. I also used Chantix. I used it for the full course of 12 weeks. I smoked a continually reduced amount of cigs for the first 2 weeks (my quit date should have only been 1 week out but I had trouble getting with the program). Could you tell me a little more about how you are using the Chantix and your smoking in relation to it? By the way, you may not remember them but you could be having some wild dreams and not sleeping as well, which may be why your mornings are a little rough. But I'm no Doc. How has your Doctor advised you with the Chantix?
