Hi again Kayla! Don't you worry girl ~ You are doing GREAT!!!! You are on day 2!!!!!!!! That is HUGE!! One foot in front of the other! That's all it takes. I remember pretending to smoke when I was driving. I cracked the window, held up my fingers, and pretended to puff away! It must have looked like I was insane...... But it really helped. I like the straw idea that was given to you in your last post. I also recommend hard candies, licorice, water, excerise....... Anything but smoke! Take care! Keep posting. 4my2girls My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 380 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,400 Amount Saved: $1242.6 Life Gained: Days: 30 Hrs: 13 Mins: 50 Seconds: 17

Kayla, Hang in there! It might be helpful to put yourself in places that you would not have smoked even when you were a smoker (the library, the mall, walking in your neighborhood, etc.). I joined a gym and have visited almost everyday- no one smokes on a treadmill! It releases lots of tension, and so far no weight gain. Keep the quit and keep posting! Good morning well I didn't get much sleep last night I woke up like every 30mins and tossed and turned. I found it hard to watch tv yesterday. Everytime I saw someone smoke I would reach over to the table to light one and realized I don't have any cigarettes let alone a lighter or ashtray. I got rid of everything. I'm feeling a little bit better but still in a fog and my stomaches upset. I'm hanging in there!!!

Kayla, That spaced out feeling is due to carbon monoxide withdrawal. It is temporary and it will pass. Be sure to keep yourself busy in the days to come, distractions can be very helpful when tackling cravings. Here are a few tips for the sleeping disturbances: Try to get on a sleep schedule. Go to bed at a regular time each night and get up at a regular time in the morning. Try to not stay up late watching TV and try not to sleep during the day. If you get on a sleep schedule, we guarantee that youll begin to feel better. Try to make the room you sleep in as quiet as possible. Consider ear plugs or a sleep mask. Use your bed only for sleeping. Dont lounge around in your bed. If you spend too much time lounging in bed, watching T.V., drinking coffee, or eating, your body will learn that your bed is NOT a place for sleeping. If you cant sleep after half an hour in bed dont stay in bed trying to sleep. Get up and do some quiet activity. For example, read a book for a half hour and then try going back to bed. If you still cant sleep, get up and do something quiet once again. Try to keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature - not too cold and not too hot. Try to get some exercise every day. Youll feel better and sleep will come much quicker. Try not to exercise or work hard late in the evening. It could make you feel wired. Dont drink anything with caffeine or alcohol for 4 hours before you go to bed. Try not to eat a heavy meal in the evening. Dont eat just before you go to bed. If youre not sleeping at night, avoid naps during the day. Use relaxation techniques. Deep breathing may help you relax at bed time. Hope you feel better soon.
