Spend as much time here reading and reading more - and give support - that will keep your hands busy, my friend! I quit cold turkey - no slips, but I spend more time here than I did anywhere else when I first quit... You will learn everything you need to know about how to have and keep a successful quit here, so get busy and read... read... read... This is a tough journey, BUT it can be done!! Hello Kayla, Your name sounds familiar, like You've been down this road before, But Kayla, what works for One person in there quit, might not always work for another, I just past the 4 year mark of not having a cig touch my lips, Right before I quit on this website, a Lady put and article in the home town newspaper, and it said, if You want to quit smoking, cut a milk shake staw in half, place it behind Your ear, in Your shirt pocket, purse, And when You get that urge or craving., Hey!! Go at it, But be careful, those staws could be hazzordous to Your health, LOL, But in stessful situations, that straw sure works fine for me, Hey Friend, 40 years smoking, pack and a half aday, It Works, But what also goes great with the straw, is excercising everyday, walk 2 miles down the road, drink lots of water, You will feel great, I wouldn't lie to Ya, And I just Love Quitters of this smoking addiction, You look Better, You smell Better, and after awhile, it puts the most beautiful Smile on Your face, Hey Friend, You couldn't pay me enough to go back smoking again, still wondering why it took me so long to quit, It was a matter of being in the right place at the right time, Hope You have a nice journey, Take care, Smokless In Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1469 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 44,083 Amount Saved: $6287.32 Life Gained: Days: 334 Hrs: 3 Mins: 30 Seconds: 2

That first day smoke free is really a B-tch. It's a hard struggle to make it through that day, no matter HOW you approach it....and there is nothing "less than" about using the patches to quit. I used them very successfully...they take the edge off the cravings...I consider them the edge that let me win the battle. sleep patterns become erratic when you quit smoking. Some can't sleep, others can't get enough sleep. quitting is a roller-coaster ride for sure. the main thing is that you realize that you CAN do this! Plenty of us here to prove that. I promise that the freedom from nicotine is one of the greatest feelings ever hang tough...keep posting and sucking down the ice water Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1899 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 75,962 Amount Saved: $10824.3 Life Gained: Days: 250 Hrs: 10 Mins: 49 Seconds: 13
