Bump and Grind (day two)

17 years ago 0 61 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi all, Day two is here and I would love to say that I feel great but I am still recovering from Strep Throat at the same time so I'm afraid I can't. Doing a lot of dry coughing and it's getting on my nerves. I was hoping that quitting would improve things but it's taking the Strep cough and Quit cough and adding them together. Oh well, that's not gonna stop me. Day two and still alive baby. -Joe My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/9/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 34 Amount Saved: $10 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 38 Seconds: 32

Thank you. I have no intention of smoking today or any other day; however, I am having a bad day and want to complain. lol. I have been told in certain circles that I don't complain enough and although it's not something I intend on doing often it does feel nice to $itch a little. Thanks Nonic and Rusty for the words. -Joe My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/9/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 37 Amount Saved: $10 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 52 Seconds: 10

Sounds good, Joe! Sorry that your quit is starting out with the extra complication, but you sound like someone who's determined... like you've got your eyes on the prize. Good on ya! And we'll be here to hear you complain as much as you like. :) It's part of the service. LOL!

JOJO Use your strep throat to your advantage!! I have heard of lots of people who got off to a good start because they got sick and it was easier to not smoke while not feeling well....and the three detox days went by. Some people got sick...and seeing while sick they didn't smoke for a few days decided to quit. Your doing great. I do hope you feel better though. Joe Complaining is a good thing, I find that when I am really in the crave mode, I just sit down and write either here or in my journal...Like you I am a song writer too...You would be surprised how much of the quit journal becomes sources for great lyrics... In any case I am glad you are here and moving forward...There is no doubt that you are in a difficult place now, but I will promise you that when you move through this space in time, things will get more manageable... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,817 Amount Saved: $525 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 1 Mins: 34 Seconds: 59

"Hey Joe where you goin with that gun in your hand..." don't shoot your quit and "please don't let your deal go down" Sorry to hear about the strep throat, thats gotta hurt, but having a cigarette is not going to make it any better...Your getting hit with junkie thinking...its the same brain washing that has kept us chokin smoke and slowly killing ourselves for a long long time...Keep to it, the junkie will always look for a reason to smoke, but that part of you that is busy being born needs to be given a chance to over come the junkie...Help it along by having faith in yourself and your decision...YOU CAN DO THIS... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,812 Amount Saved: $525 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 0 Mins: 48 Seconds: 25

Jojo, Congrats on day two. Please vent away whenever you feel the need. We will always be here to listen. If you feel you don't want to vent on the forums, journalling may also be beneficial to you. Keep strong. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Joe, your addiction (aka your junkie self) is trying to tell you that your cold would get better or you would feel better if you'd just smoke. Don't let it win the battle. YOU take charge!
