Hey Everyone - Hello!

Coben, Welcome to the site and congratulations on becoming an ex-smoker! It is great to hear that you are ready to quit! The question is are you prepared? Please take advantage of our free Online Treatment Program in your glove compartment as you log into our site. This program will first help you determine if youre ready to quit. If youve already quit and are looking for some help, this program is for you. Although the program will first assess if youre ready to quit the exercises at the beginning of the program will help remind you of the reasons why you quit in the first place. Dont get frustrated - ex-smokers have told us that the exercises at the beginning of the program gave them confidence and helped them reaffirm their personal commitment to remain smoke free. The exercises in this program are divided into six major milestones. Think of each milestone as a destination youre trying to reach. After you complete the exercises in each milestone, your car will progress along the road map located at the bottom left-hand side of the screen. The best thing about this program is that it is free and you dont have to purchase any products to use this program. We hope that we have guided you in the right direction today! Please feel free to contact our support department in our feedback section found at the bottom of this page if you continue to have any questions or concerns. Or, please continue to join us here at our online support group! We wish you all the best and look forward to helping you achieve your goals! Melanie ____________________ The SSC Support Team

Thanks for the positive words, most appreciated. My husband and I went to cold laser therapy to quit and are only on day 4 so we are still in a very tough spot which I imagine will last quite some time!!! None of my friends smoke, so they really don't "GET IT" like an ex-smoker does.

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself so others do not feel alone in their obsession with how much they think about smoking. Or Not smoking in this case! What a head game the whole thing is. I'm being tough and so far have not given in. Would like to hear about what others have gone through at various stages of their quit. :)

Hi Meg, Thanks for your kind words. Basically the laser therapy can be compared to accupuncture with a laser. They put in on certain points on your ear, wrist and nose for both your left and right side. A very relaxing experience. Everyone is different, while I felt a sense of "euphoria" my husband said he did not feel anything at all. It's expensive at $300 a treatment. They give you a coupon for a booster within the first 6 months. IfF you are really struggling you can go back in the first 10 days after treatment. This for me totally takes the EDGE off - I haven't wanted to kill anyone yet and seem to be rater calm for a normally hyper type person. This does not take away the desire to quit. It takes care of the physical part, it's the mental part that is the devil of the addiction. ChristineM (CobenFan)

Hi CobenFan - Well am still sorta new to my Quit- and I am committed and not going back, no matter what... I would like to share with you some of the most significant things that have supported my successful Quit... Get your favorite jammies out, change the bed and put on your softest sheets:) - get some of your favorite hard candy or sugarless gum, get out your favorite music, allow yourself to sleep as much as your body wants to sleep... rest, rest, rest. One thing that I love, and that constantly reminds me that I am an exsmoker, is that I spray the rooms in my home with my fav scents:) Candles, etc... just surround yourself with the love, energy and scents you love... Feed your soul... Oh - and make sure to reward yourself for each baby step!! Each of us has our own individual Quit journey. I found so much invaluable info in old posts here on the site... Be gentle w/yourself, be kind to yourself, take plenty of hot, soothing, nurturing baths - use bath salts, rose essential oil (or w/e soothes your soul) and just love yourself, dear one... We are all here for you. Ask for support, and let us know how you're doing. You are not alone. coben fan, It's nice to have you on line. Quitting smoking is a good thing, and the problems that you have in the beginning, are way out weighed by the benefits that you get in the end. Find a group of people with your same start date, or right around the same time and make a small support group inside this large on. you will have more fun and get more out of it. Good luck, Cheryl No Joking, I'm Still Not Smoking! My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 267 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,424 Amount Saved: $760.95 Life Gained: Days: 35 Hrs: 0 Mins: 7 Seconds: 16
