Congrats on quitting. I am 3 days in and am trying to NOT lose my mind! This is the first time I have tried cold turkey in a long time. Good luck to you I hope to gain as much confidence in this group as you seem to have. I am excited to have found it. Hi Potchy, I just wrote also about blowing my quit of 6 days. 10 months that was a long one. Do you know what may have happened to make you start again, I know you said for no apparent reason. But I just don't get it, I get so infuriated when I think about it. Sorry if I sound frustrated but damn I am. I really hope this one works for you. Best of luck! Eady

Hello Everyone, I was smoke free for 10 months (thanks to this website) and then one day for no apparent reason I started up again. I have been smoking again now since November but today I have quit once again. It was so disappointing to start up again, but I know that using this site will be the motivation I need. I look forward to chatting with you all and I think that everyone in this group is an inspiration. So far today is a good day and I feel great about quitting... Woooohooooo :) Potchy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Hi Potchy, I'm quitting for the 2nd time in nearly one year also. We can do this! I think what's really helping me this time around is knowing the enemy-nicotine and that little prop I've been a slave to for 20 some odd years-the cigarette. Every time I get an urge or a craving I think to myself, "thank GOD, I'm finally free and soon I'll be rid of the junkie feelings". What scares me still is knowing I have to be vigilent and strong even in the months to come. We can do it though-replace fear with positive thinking and courage. I find a lot of courage in this online forum. ;)

Potchy, We are all different and quitting is easier for some than others. Life can be a ***** and smoking can be fun but not particularly healthy. If you fall off get back up like you have and proudly try again you haven't failed until you stop trying. Welcome back and that goes for all you slippers out there. You are as important to me as the lucky ones who get it right first time, perhaps more so! Penitent d623
