Lacking Motivation

Motivation is a tricky thing, either you have it or you don't. A lot of people find anxiety makes it harder. For me throwing myself into work helped not hindered so I did it. It was my motivation. But then I always did push myself. Still do so I can't credit cured with my motivation. I just don't sit around well.

By the way I have lost projects too. One is a concrete foundation I never did put a building on and likely won't. I'm letting trees hide it.

I have so many things I wish to do too.  My "to do" list wasn't followed as I used to, but I know mom's health wasn't good last week, and mine was poor for a couple of weeks before that.

I feel quite tired too, but I'm trying to rest.

One key renovation project has been hard to detail, since I've been feeling scattered, a hallmark of uneasiness.  Once a similar project was done a couple of years ago, it felt better though.

I have lots of goals that I want to accomplish from the questions you asked below. But I find that with my anxiety they are so far from reach.

I feel like my anxiety is stopping me from doing all this.

Any advice?

Interesting Loves trees!  How were you able to overcome this?

Hi Ashley,

Those are really good questions. For me, I had the problem of being anxious about solving my anxiety (a funny paradox to me now).

Are you lacking motivation when it comes to dealing with anxiety?  Identifying what it is that motivates you to make healthy behaviour changes can be very helpful.

Here are a few sample questions you may wish to ask yourself when trying to determine your motivations:

•    Is there a specific life goal you’d like to achieve which would require managing anxiety?
•    Are there special relationships in your life that could be improved if you overcame your anxiety?
•    In what ways would your day to day life improve if you overcame your anxiety?
•    How would you grow as a person if you learned to manage your anxiety?
