Mental image.

Like I said on your other thread, I like your attitude and you are going to be successful with this quit I would say. Maybe you should keep that bucket of butts as a reminder of what you could be doing to your lungs. Congratulations on your 27 days quit, that is awesome! Weekend results?

Hi cybrduke, I love your attitude, and its attitude like that, that will help you with your quit.
I figure I smoked for a whole lot of years, this isn't something I'll unlearn in a few days.
If we could all embrace that saying it would really help with quitting. It does take TIME and it is WORTH it. I used the patch too and stepping down was really quite easy, I hope it is for you too. I too had a great weekend, beautiful sunny days and my grandson was here for the weekend, I love spending time with him :) My triggers are getting less and less, it does get better. They say it takes a whole year to get through all the triggers so I am about there but dont be discouraged, that year really does go by fast. Keep up the great attitude, your a quitter now :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 347 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,683 Amount Saved: $2602.5 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 10 Mins: 7 Seconds: 13

Are the symptoms of quitting worse than smoking itself?

Hang in there it does get better. Try doing things to take your mind off the smoking. I bought a personnal CD player when I quit and listened to it ALLOT at first, the music in my ears was soothing and it took my mind off smoking. I walked, biked, soaked in the tub till I looked like a prune, and slept allot. No one ever died from withdrawal and you won't either. I cried and cried and cried till I thought I would have no more teaers, then I cried some more, think of it as a cleansing for your body. This is not easy but it is worth it. Another poster on here just posted this and I think its good words to live by, I hope they dont mind me borrowing it.
I figure I smoked for a whole lot of years, this isn't something I'll unlearn in a few days.
Please dont go buy some smokes, they wont help and you are going to feel ALLOT worse than you do now, I can promise you that!
