Hi mommzay,
Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing your story with us today. This support group is full of supportive individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety.
If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When youre finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.
About the Panic Program, this program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.
If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net.
Looking forward to hearing from you again soon.
Casey

Hi Phoenix,
I would first recommend that you continue to read through the site and try the program as there is some very valuable information there.
For a specific aid to help you through a situation, you may want to try deep breathing exercises. Learning how to properly do deep breathing exercises is very important. Not only does it keep your blood well-oxygenated, it helps to clear your thinking too, thereby reducing stress. Surprisingly, many of us have a hard time doing breathing exercises correctly and do not fill their lungs to their full capacity. It does however get easier with practice.
-you can sit, lie or stand, keep your back straight
-keep one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen
-visualize your lungs filling with air as you inhale, you should feel your shoulders move up as your chest rises and fills with air
-exhale through your mouth by blowing gently
-remember to keep your facial muscles relaxed
Everyone is an individual and as such may need to vary the duration and frequency of this technique.
Breathing exercises is just one suggestion. Other members will likely be responding with their thoughts on what works best for them in panic situations to help keep their thoughts under control. Keep us posted with your progress, we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi MumLauren,
Welcome to the site.
As you can see by the discussion on this thread, you are not alone in relating changes in your anxiety to hormone levels. You should check with your doctor about this possibility.
