How does smoking affect your body?

We only realize how smoking destroys  our body when we stop.
Smoking really transforms us in human trash.
I am over 6 months smoke free and still feeling and seeing the positive changes, physically and mentally.

When I look back I don't recognize the person I was:
depressed
sleeping problems
breathing problems
bad skin quality
I couldn't go up a 10 step staircase with out almost spiting my lungs out
I am much more sociable now, no rush to go home and smoke like a mad person.
I don't stink as an ashtray anymore
short temper ...now I am almost a monk
when smoking my self esteem was the worst possible due to feeling a failure  "IF I CAN NOT MANAGE TO STOP SMOKING I CAN NOT SUCEED ON THE MOST SIMPLE THINGS IN MY LIFE"
My family is soooo proud of me :)

Stopping to smoke was the most important thing I did im my life.

crying

Hey Deb,
Great to see you are better.
I know what that is... my first month was terrible, I was emotionally a wreck...with no emotional control... I would go to my bedroom to cry alone and away from the kids.  there was no reason for that and I knew it was just a chemical unbalance due to the lack of nicotine and the other thousand of poisons.
Every tear is worth it.... continue strong and stay smokeless.

strange question

You girls don't loose one opportunity...lol...soooo funny!!

Well actually there was a topic talking about that.. the reason is GAS... stopping to smoke causes gas for some time.... so that is why you feel as a gas balloon!

NICE SMILE TO YOU ALL !!!

5 days now, but very hard

Change routine, that is the key!
wakeup.. turn music on...  anything you did not do before.
Take your food on a tray to some different place...
Dont stop, don't stop... go out and walk around the block.

cut sugars... sugars only makes you want to go up the walls... fruit...lots of watery fruits like melons, pineapple, oranges, water melon, star fruit.. what ever you have in your area.

Water has a great role when it comes to stop smoking.

dont forget that this is the best time to stop smoking... spring...summer.... all starts to come to life.... including YOU!

I hate this!!!

Yes I know exactly the one great and correct thing to burn calories..... DONT EAT THEM
LOL... eat to feed your body with quality food....once a week eat for pleasure... JUST ONCE A WEEK
Eat small amounts slowly...have pleasure

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Members, can you think of any small exercises that we can do during the day to increase the amount of calories burned?
Climbing the stairs, walking at lunch...or around the recliner...
