You have found a great site to quit and stay quit. The people here are so helpful.
Yes, this is such an addiction to fight. Everything that you say is true. There are never enough puffs to feed the addiction, it's actually easier and less stress to not feed it. That was my big surprise when I quit.
Stay here with the SSC, be sure to post anytime you like.
Welcome!

Glad to see that you are hanging in there! Isn't it wonderful how many people want you to succeed? Everyone (many you have not met yet) are in your cheering section.
Sounds like you have a busy day with lots of chores lined up. Don't forget to work in the REWARDS for not smoking.
The more rewards the better.... they help to rewire your brain which is probably feeling haywire right now.
I used to smoke out on the patio too. I loved seeing the day. Also I had squirrel friend out there who would always beg for a treat. Well actually, she started taking my lighters! Somewhere in the trees is a highly flammable nest! Figured that was a sign that it was time to quit.... LOL.
Hang in there, take breaks, drink water and don't forget the rewards!
We are all here if you need a boost anytime.

I'm sorry to hear you are having a rough time of it today. Coming here is a great way to delay the crave and to distract your mind for a bit... and get some encouragement!
Cold Turkey is right! You are so close to getting to the end of Hell Week and things will get so much better as you go along.
In your first post, you talked about how being a smoker was really getting you down. You will have such a boost to your life and self esteem if you hang in there!
Maybe have a warm cup of green tea? I used to like the feel of something warm in my hand when I first quit. Take a walk around the block? Play a game on the computer? Good to find a distraction if you can.
Others will be along soon to give you some more ideas and encouragement. Stay close to this site, read back through old posts to get suggestions.
You are doing such a great job so far of staying quit... keep going!!! One moment, one day at at time!!!

I've truly enjoyed your contributions to the site. Your posts are insightful and memorable.
I've dug around and read all I could of what had not been chopped off.
Any posts that can be bumped would be greatly appreciated. If you have your opening post intact, that would be enough for me. Any other contributions in the threads have mostly been preserved but not the opening thought.
I for one, would finally like to see how the "Tuesday" post ends.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
With gratitude,
HP
