Hi Cabbage!
Welcome to the site! The journal is really good to be able to just have a glance and see if you have a pattern! Everyone is really friendly here and there's a good few people who have been free for a year or longer so I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to relate to and hopefully, you'll be able to give us young uns some good advice and tips!
Paula

Hey guys, feel kinda confused at the moment. When I came home today, my bedroom was full of smoke- no sign of fire though. Think it was just from neighbors chimney but hopefully sorted out. Anyway, I feel really strange- as if I've just had a drag from a cig, you know when you haven't had one in ages and then you do and it makes you feel a bit light headed and floaty, disorientated. I kinda want a cig but I don't have a craving if that makes any sense? My house smells like smoke and my bed sheets and everything. Its 1am so I can't air out the house and wash the sheets till morning. I want to go for a walk and get some fresh air but I think if I do, I'll buy cigs. Its very weird, i don't feel like fighting it yet I'm posting. I feel like a don't give a crap and a bit high to be honest with you. My head is thumping!

Eh, I'm all good now. Opened the windows in the room and closed the door, went out to the garden for a while for some air. I'm ok now, I think it might have been the smell of the smoke that made me feel so strange, it felt like breathing in fumes. Everything smelt of smoke, I smelt of smoke, my hair -yuck-, and my throat hurt and headache. My dad said it was probably carbon monoxide and it would normally knock people out but I'd built up a tolerance level! I think he was joking, I think! Anyway, don't know if I wanted a cig because I already felt and smelt like one or cos I had a bit of a panic with the smoke in the first place! Either way, didn't have one I'm happy and proud to say and I'm in my pj's now so another pack of cigs bites the dust!!
Ha ha, screw you cigs, you didn't get me today!! Today was a testing day, but I passed. Woke up from a happy vivid dream were I was smoking and my mom was alive, I hate it when you have to check yourself back into reality! Bad cravings, stubborness, bout of crying and indecisiveness, irritating people and then smoke filled bedroom. Ok enough rambling, I'm off to bed, goodnight folks!

Hi dre, welcome to the group! When you're getting close to your quit date, try switch the hand that you use to smoke with, so if you normally smoke with your right hand, smoke with your left and vice versa! It'll make you more concious of your smoking! It helped me a bit even though it was irritating!

Hey, thanks for your support. I had a 3rd party remove them from the building. All i have to say now is....
I AM A NICOTINE ADDICT. THIS IS A HORRIBLE ADDICTION BUT ONE THAT I AM DETERMINED TO BE FREE FROM. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "JUST ONE".

No can do about a non smoking house! I rent and share and its a smoking house! So till I can afford to get my own place, which is a fair bit off, just gonna have to learn to deal with it! I should be used to it, I mean people smoke here every day, don't know why tonight was so bad.

I'm really fed up of feeling lousy and angry constantly. I feel like I'm going crazy. I snapped at my nan earlier on and then burst in to tears. I'm not seeing any positives. I feel like I'm going to have to watch my back for the rest of my life, in fear of being weak and giving in to the almighty nicotine demon. I'm aware that I'm finding it hard because
1. I'm 23 (addict says, have fun, relax, you like it)
2. No health problems ( i know, i know, yet...)
3. Money (not a deterrant)
4. I can't get my head around NOPE, I understand it but I'm finding it tough. My quit date is important to me and I want to keep it unless I totally relapse. I slipped on day 6 and day 12 and I can't honestly say that I will never have another puff because I don't know.
The only thing that is motivating me is that I don't want to smoke for the rest of my life therefore I have to stop at some point, so why not now. Its never going to be the right time. Yeah, I could wait till I'm older and need to stop for health reasons but that would kind of defeat the purpose!
Today, I had little to no desire to smoke and I was with smokers for an hour or so. I chose not to smoke because I didn't want to but I just don't feel 100% committed to quiting, I'd say I'm about 40% (max).
I really appreciate everyones support and advice and input, am I on the road to nowhere?
Do I really have to fight this for the rest of my life?

Thanks Lainey, I'm really tense today! Its 4am here in Dublin and I can't sleep. Just had a crappy day and fed up! Although, I had a positive today, I chose not to smoke because I simply didn't want to. Hopefully tommorrow will be better, I'm gonna try and get some sleep!
Thanks
