I have been on Chantix for a month now. I stopped taking it and havent had a cig for 26 days :) I have another refill if I need it but I just want to see how I go without it. Has anyone stopped after just a month of it??? Just want to hear how other people on thisare doing! I definitely recommend it to someone who wants to quit!!!!! It takes away most of the cravings:)
I am on chantix and haven't had a cig in 25 days..almot a full month!!! Haven't ever gone this long without a cig! And I'm doing great on it...yeah! I have to pat myself on the back for this! (I was a pack a day user) ;)

Hello I am new to the group as of today. I am 27 and have been smoking for 9 years. (pack a day) I have been smoke free for 25 days now thanks to my will power and Chantix. I am not taking Chantix anymore b/c it is very expensive and made my tummy hurt often. So unless the cravings get bad I will refill it. I just wanted to introduce myself and say good bye to my cigs for good. (this makes me feel better):
Dear cigs,
You have been in my life for 9 years. You were there for me when I was sad, mad, angry, happy, wanting to socialize, when I was drunk and just when I was relaxing daily. I really liked you when I was on the phone talking to my friends. And you were a lot of fun when I went out drinking. However it is time to end my friendship with you because you weren't much of a friend. You cost me a lot of money, made me stink, helped me develop asthma, contributed to my recurring bronchitis & allergies, gave me pimples often (my opinion), not allowed me to excercise well and isolated me from certain situations and places. I simply cannot ever be around you again. You are worse than any other drug out there and shame on all the tobacco companies for making you so darn addictive. Don't get me wrong I will miss you. But I am being strong this time and do not ever want you in my life again. I want to LIVE-so goodbye!!!
That makes me feel better :)

Why is your Dr against chantix? It really works! And if U smoke on it they taste nasty so you dont wanna smoke...kinda like when you first started smoking you make yourself smoke. You still have to wanna quit! But before when I tried cold turkey quit I never lasted more than a day! I have only taken chantix for 4 weeks, and I dont think I even need a refill.
Good luck with the quit date.

Yeah so I didnt smoke on thanksgiving even with a full belly and some wine. I wanted one a lil bit but got over it. Didnt even take the chantix...i have the one pill in my purse just sitting there. Its prob been about 2 weeks off of it and I had no withdrawal symptoms, nor when I drank did I ever have any side effects. I did have stomach cramping, nausea and vivid dreams...but sooooo worth it. Again-try it...but u still have to wanna quit. No ciggies for me whooooooo!
