Ripped my jeans and a "friend" told me I have a "tire roll" - time to do something!

This is so depressing :( I have just started my 6th week smoke free & until a few days ago, I was on a wonderful high. When I had to buy new clothes because I couldn't squeeze into the old jeans, I got on the scale....OH THE HORROR! How can a body gain 10 pounds in a month??? No wonder I feel like crap! I feel really good about not smoking 920 cigarettes but I am also miserable with the way I look. I have never had a problem with weight, in fact, I had trouble gaining. I don't like where this is heading. Tomorrow, I am going to start walking DAILY....a good brisk walk is probably the best exercise. Now all that's left to do is staple my lips shut  My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 920 Amount Saved: $291.96 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 21 Mins: 35 Seconds: 11

Day one

Congratulations matedsouls, I am so happy for your kids. Your son must be so proud of you. It's funny that little kids can be smarter than grown-ups when it comes to smoking. Use the tools on this site, they really helped me in understanding why I smoked. Be honest in your answers & later on when you go back & read them again, you'll be asking yourself 'what the heck was I thinking?'. YOU CAN DO IT! WOOHOO, we have another quitter :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 511 Amount Saved: $162.2 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 4 Mins: 0 Seconds: 36

What a tobacco company says

Last week, quite by accident I caught the last half hour of a documentary called "The Tobacco Conspiracy". I really wish I had seen the whole show. If anyone sees it listed in the tv guide, watch it! At the end of the documentary, they show a young person in a casket that is filled with cigarette packages. Words come on the screen that say, since this show began 376 people have died from tobacco use. Then a few seconds later, the number changed to 377. That was a powerful scene! April Ashkickers 2

Happy Thursday Ash Kickers :) Hey this place looks slightly different. Before, the older posts never showed up for me. I always got an error message where they should have been but now I can see them, which makes it so much easier to reply to people.....I'm hoping that I can use the IM on this site too. I never could before. Lou P, Big HUG for you. This is so stressful for you & if you need your fellow April Ash kickers, we are here for you. Smoking is all about control & you handled that stressful situation perfectly. I had a terrible dream that I gave up my quit & started smoking again. Why would I dream that? I am thrilled with my quit & I remember saying to myself in the dream that I wished this was just a smoking dream & that I am really still a quitter. I was very relieved when I woke up.....these dreams are soooo vivid & upsetting to me. Have a great day :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 45 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,125 Amount Saved: $364.95 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 19 Mins: 5 Seconds: 36
