Hi I started my quit yesterday, just came across this site. Wish I had found it before as I was really scared if I would be able to quit this time (failed before). Today hasn't been too bad up to now, but then again its only been 24hours. I'm using the patches this time, hopefully I'll manage better this time and quit for good.
Hi , I am using the patch and even though its only been 2 days, I have found that this time round the quit seems to be better than the other times. I think it is because I put the patch on first thing in the morning then I don't have to think about it again till the next morning.
So I don't have a constant reminder that I'm quitting (used the inhaler the last few times I tried to quit). Now all I have to do is deal with the cravings and I don't have to keep asking myself do I need to have to use my inhaler now or not, I always felt as if I was asking myself do you want the inhaler or would a ciggy be better.
Good luck with your quit and keep strong it can be done.

Hi, like you am new here, I am now starting day 3 and up to now things not been too bad. I also have a smoker in the house like you and they have agreed not to smoke around me or leave they ciggy packs in view.
I have tried before but this time like you I just don't enjoy being a smoker anymore, and for health reasons I really need to do it this time.
All the best of luck with your quit and remember that if you feel like your giving in just log on here and let us know

Just hold in there, I'm just starting day 3 and to be honest I feel total lost. I didn't sleep to good last night, I just kept thinking about those stupid white sticks!!! Today I've got a really bad headache, but I know that if I have a ciggy now that I don't think that I would try to quit again for ages. I want to quit and this time I will quit.
Just have a good sleep and think about the reasons you started this quit and be strong. everyone on this site is saying that maybe you on the wrong strength of meds, go and see your doctor and talk it over with them. I'm using the patch this time and it really seems to be doing the job for me.
All the best, keep in touch and remember to be strong, you can and will get through this.

Thanks for that I need to hear something positive. The headache is getting worst as the day goes on!! My mind keeps wandering to 'Oh go on just have one!' but no this time I won't give in I know from the people here that it will pass, and that it will only get better. If you anymore of these please post them as us newcomers could really use them
Thanks again you've brighten my day.

Didn't have to hard a time today, but a part of me I kept thinking 'Oh! I haven't had a ciggy maybe I should have one now'.
But then the other part of me said 'Good work keep it up!!! You still haven't had a ciggy, thats the way it should be'.
I didn't sleep well last night, and I think that as a result of that I have had a really bad headache all day. I remember the last time I quit that my sleep pattern went all wrong, but I don't remember having the headaches.
Going to get a early night, have a nice relaxing hot bath, a milky drink just relax and have a read before I go to sleep, it used to work when I was younger so hopefully it still will now.
Hope that everyones day hasn't been too bad, and that you are all still going strong.

Enjoy yourself today but remember to take care of yourself everyday.

I am always amazed that by just sewing a few crosses together with different colour threads, that after a while (and a lot of crosses) a picture starts to form.
At the moment I am doing a native american child. I have completed the face, so everytime I pick it up to do some more, the first thing I see is a smiling child looking back at me.
Also I do a bit of reading, as when I am doing this I can forget about all my worries and stresses also those deadly white sticks and go into a different world and just relax.
