Myth or Fact?

15 years ago 0 823 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Perth,

The myth in this situation is a thought or idea that is perceived to be true but is not.

The fact is that many individuals possess the fear that they will lose control in a panic attack, but don't actually lose their ability to move or become paralyzed. So you are right that they are afraid of this idea...........this fear drives them to believe that it may actually happen even though it does not.

Hope that was helpful and not too confusing!!

...sorry to ask, but dont quite understand... so what is fact? That people don't get paralyzed, they're just afraid of it?

Myth: If I lose control during anxiety attacks, would it lead to paralysis?

Fact: Some people during a panic attack believe they are going to "lose control." Presumably, they mean that they would either become totally paralysed or not be able to move, or that they would not know what they are doing.
